While many designers have used fur in their lines, Christian Dior was named the first to introduce fabrics printed with Leopard spots. His Spring of 1947 Collection featured two Leopard dresses, and while he may have put it on the runway, he did not feel the print was for everyone.
In Little Dictionary of Fashion he wrote:
“But to wear it, you must have a kind of Feminity which is a little bit sophisticated. If you are fair and sweet, don’t wear it.”
Revillon began in 1839 when Louis-Victor Revillon bought a leather company. This company was established in 1723 by M. Francois Givelet in Paris at 159 Rue St. Honore.
